Reformation Theology

This ten week course offers an intense and insightful introduction to the theology and history of the Reformation of the medieval church which had lost its roots in Holy Scripture and thus lost its way. Pastor Andrew Fedder is ideally placed to convey not only what happened at the Reformation but why it happened and why it is still vitally important for the church of today. The Lutheran Difference

Why are there different Christian churches or denominations? How did they come about? What do they believe distinctively, or perhaps better, what makes them distinctive? This course provides an ecumenical overview of Christians denominations from a Lutheran perspective, and it has proved interesting to persons of many other denominations seeking to understand the difference(s) between their and other Christian expressions. Introduction to the Old Testament


Instructor: Pastor Paul Willweber

As the second module in SLTA's diploma curriculum, this Introduction to the Old Testament offers valuable insights into the vast array of writings found in the Old Testament (OT). These include: prose and poetry, folk tale and history, sacred hymns and proverbs, religious and secular laws, oracles of the prophets, epic poems, laments, parables, and allegories. Pastor NN offers considerable expertise in this field. The course begins on Thursday, 16 January, 2020 at 7:00 pm.

In this course we will consider Lutheran theology in certain key areas in relation to other Christian positions. It is hoped that this course will prepare Lutherans and non-Lutherans alike to understand and witness to the gospel more clearly and confidently.
