Church Liturgy and Music

Formally entitled "World Without End: The Church's Timeless Worship - A Course on Liturgy and Church Music," this ten week module in liturgy and church music will introduce and guide participants through a rich understanding of Christian worship from the early church to the present. Introduction to the New Testament

As the third module in SLTA’s diploma curriculum, this Introduction to the New Testament offers valuable insights into the personal and theological nature of writings found in the New Testament (NT). What are gospels and epistles? Who wrote the New Testament, and to whom was it written? What is the NT’s message, and how is it relevant for believers today? Pastor John Kent offers considerable expertise in this field for both beginners and veteran Bible readers. The course begins on Tuesday, 11 September 2018, at 7:00-8:30 pm.

In this course we will consider Lutheran theology in certain key areas in relation to other Christian positions. It is hoped that this course will prepare Lutherans and non-Lutherans alike to understand and witness to the gospel more clearly and confidently.

Introduction to the Old Testament

As the second module in SLTA's diploma curriculum, this Introduction to the Old Testament offers valuable insights into the vast array of writings found in the Old Testament (OT). These include: prose and poetry, folk tale and history, sacred hymns and proverbs, religious and secular laws, oracles of the prophets, epic poems, laments, parables, and allegories. Pastor NN offers considerable expertise in this field. The course begins on Thursday, 13 September, 2018 at 7:00 pm.
